Teaching

Arch 8 team members are regularly asked to teach workshops. we do this in three primary groups: professional artists, young people, and enthusiastic amateurs. Ongoing projects include reoccurring workshops in Benin, Senegal, Cairo, and Alexandria – where our involvement is helping to develop the contemporary dance infrastructure in these societies. Company workshops often have an emphasis on partnering, composition, and/or site-specific work in public space. Many of our workshops lead to a performance moment for the participants.
Choreographer Erik Kaiel also regularly teaches composition workshops internationally, both in university programs, and in workshop settings (often with an emphasis on creating work for a young audience). Recent workshops have taken place in Edinburgh, Hasselt, Munich, and Melbourne.
